Parque San Isidro Labrador (Los Pedregales)
San Isidro Park, better known as Los Pedregales, is located on the first foothills of Sierra Bermeja, in its south-western area. At 5km from the old quarter, you access the park via an industrial estate on the Camino de Casares. It is at an altitude of 150 metres and has an area of 30 hectares, marked out on the south and east by a perimeter fence of stones from the area.
As its name indicates, it is on rocky ground, with an abundance of peridotite and serpentine rocks, creating a place of extraordinary and rare beauty.
It has several barbeque areas with tables, water points, lavatories, car parks, a playground, a network of interior trails and the San Isidro Labrador chapel.
This park has become a meeting place for many families, who come here to enjoy a day in the country during weekends. Additionally, once a year in the month of May, it becomes the place of pilgrimage for hundreds of people who gather here to celebrate the Romería pilgrimage in honour of San Isidro Labrador (Saint Isidore the Labourer), the patron saint of Estepona. It is recommended to go to the outskirts of the park, in particular to the north, to take part in all kinds of multi-adventure activities, such as mountain biking, horse trails and trekking, all in a perfect natural setting, where water flows down the rivers and streams, forming pools where we can take a dip.
