The Sierra Blanca is a mountain range which serves as a magnificent backdrop to the city of Marbella. Its name is due to the scarcity of vegetation between its greyish rocks.
It is located between the Costa del Sol and the Sierra de la Nieves, between the towns of Istán, Ojén, Marbella and Monda.
Its highest point is the Pico de la Concha (Shell Peak) (1270 m), so called because when viewed from the west, it looks like the grooved shell of a mollusc. Other peaks include: the Zarina hill (1141 m), Cruz de Juanar (1178 m) and Lastonar Peak. An ideal area to take part in nature activities such as hiking trails.
