The Sierra Bermeja acts like a backdrop that presides this spectacular twenty-one kilometre stretch of coastline within Estepona's municipal boundaries. History has chosen this corner of the province of Malaga to be enjoyed by natives and visitors alike. The large number of Roman, Phoenician and Muslim remains, as well as other important monuments like the Torre del Reloj (the Clocktower), San Luis Castle, the Church of Los Remedios and numerous beacons and watchtowers along the coast bear witness to the different civilisations that have settled in this area. Today, this small paradise has become a perfectly equipped little oasis of peace and relaxation, as is evidenced by its extensive network of luxury hotel complexes and thalasso & spa centres.
