Mijas maintains all the aroma of a traditional Mediterranean village. Set on the slopes of a mountain, its bright whitewashed houses invite visitors to discover its town centre. The peculiar places of interest hidden within its irregular centre of winding streets – like the Bullring or its Mudejar-style churches – are best observed on a "burro taxi", one of the town's most unique tourist attractions. Mijas, however, also has an extensive coastline, where one can enjoy small coves and large sandy beaches. Other urban centres are dotted along the shoreline, where one can relax in top-quality luxury resorts or play golf on magnificent golf courses.
